Kate Grant is like many up-and-coming models. The Irish twenty-year-old dreams of walking runways all over the world and landing an iconic magazine cover that will make her a household name. But her plans include more than an ascent to the top. Kate has Down Syndrome, and she’s raising awareness around diversity and inclusivity in the beauty industry.
She made strides this year when she became a face of Benefit Cosmetics.
Benefit got wind of Kate after she was crowned “Teen Ultimate Beauty of the World,” winning the international pageant for teens that celebrates diversity. Kate is the first with Down Syndrome to win the pageant.
She hopes to inspire other young women to love themselves the way they were made and to live out their dreams on any scale.
